Brian Ramsey is the President of Family Wealth Planning Partners.  He provides a high level of service and attention to each of his clients, typically successful professionals, business owners and pre-retirees who are often focused on the demands of their occupations and busy lives and need to be able to trust someone with managing their wealth.  Brian strives to develop financial plans that allow clients to enjoy their current lifestyle while remaining confident they will not outlive their wealth.

To help clients solve their cash flow, tax, educational, estate, insurance and other financial needs, Brian employs a four-step, client on-boarding process and a series of specific and structured Progress Review meetings.  His discovery and implementation process is comprehensive, including a full review of the client’s balance sheet, and he adheres to a disciplined review process to help ensure the plan remains efficient and on track over time.  Brian also emphasizes the importance of educating clients on a range of financial solutions and alternative options so that they are empowered to make the decisions that best meet their specific goals and objectives.  Each of his clients clearly understands the necessary steps to grow their wealth, preserve it through retirement years and transfer their wealth to the next generation.

Brian has been providing comprehensive financial guidance to clients since 2004.  Before becoming a Investment Advisor Representative with Independent Financial Partners, a Registered Investment Advisor based in Tampa Florida, he spent eight years working with clients in a local private bank.  He earned the prestigious Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and the Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designations which demonstrate his expertise in financial planning and developing specific strategies to help minimize taxes, protect assets, maximize growth and transfer wealth.  Brian’s experience working with business owners, those with emerging wealth and being a CFP® practitioner have influenced his planning process and the importance of the full balance sheet approach.

Brian graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and earned his MBA in Business Administration from Eastern Kentucky University.  He served as a Board Member of the Kentucky Humane Society (2014-2017).  Brian is an outgoing person who enjoys staying active by working out and playing golf and basketball.  He is an entrepreneur, as well, and owns a company that buys and flips real estate.  Brian also enjoys spending time with his father working on their collection of 1968 Mustangs.  Brian is a member of Northeast Christian Church.

Eric Douglas is a Louisville native through and through. Born and raised here, he also attended Bellarmine University where he received both his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and English and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. The bulk of Eric’s professional experience thus far has been with Nationwide, where he’s worked with advisors throughout the country as an educator and valued consultant. He has used his extensive knowledge of fee-based products and solutions to travel the country speaking with firms about how to best implement these types of solutions into their clients’ portfolios. A long-held desire to switch sides of the table and work directly with clients himself to implement some of these ideas has led Eric to Family Wealth Planning Partners.

Eric enjoys spending time with his wife Sarah raising their 3 children together. Active members of St. Michael Church, he’s a regular coach of numerous youth sports his children participate in, and volunteers his time regularly. Other hobbies include training for the PGA Senior Tour, putting up way too Christmas lights in December, and learning the ins and outs of becoming a “Dance Dad.”

Eric holds his FINRA 7, 66, 6, 63, 26, as well as his Life and Health Insurance License in numerous states.

Chris Vaughn was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky where he graduated from Jeffersontown High School and then served in the United States Army on a Pershing Missile Crew and later in Army Aviation. He earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and an Associate’s degree in Accounting from Strayer University where he graduated Cum Laude and was a member of the Alpha Chi honor society.

He and his wife Cathy have been married for 25 years and live in Shelby County. They have two boys: CJ, a sophomore at Collins High School and Casey, an 8th grader at West Middle.   Chris and his family are members of Shelby Christian Church where he and Cathy serve on the marriage mentoring team and lead a small group.

Chris is on the leadership team of The Breakfast Club, a local networking group that holds weekly meetings with other business owners in the community with the intent of helping each other become better businesspeople, entrepreneurs, and leaders. Chris is also an avid singer and is a member of The Thoroughbreds, the local chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
