In 2000, I watched my mother lose half her life savings because of an investment strategy that didn’t consider her needs. From that moment, I’ve dedicated my career to preventing that from happening to anyone else.
My commitment to helping my clients reach their goals starts with a comprehensive discovery and implementation process. I take the time to listen and understand people’s needs, thoroughly review their balance sheets, and regularly review plans to make sure they’re aligned with my client’s goals. Whether it’s cash flow, taxes, education, estate, insurance, or other financial needs, I ensure that my clients understand how to grow, preserve, and transfer their wealth.
When I’m not in the office, I’m either watching my boys play lacrosse, playing golf, or investing in real estate.

Seeing the looks on clients’ faces when they realize that they are actually ready and prepared for retirement is easily the best part of my job. I’m naturally curious, so I ask lots of questions and put a lot of thought into the tailored plans I create for families. I’ve always had an innate understanding of how investments align with long-term goals, and from this, I’m able to find solutions that others may have never considered.
I grew up in the financial planning industry because of my father, who retired from our firm in 2021. Prior to joining Family Wealth Planning Partners in 2018, I spent 13 years traveling as a consultant to advisors around the country, helping them to implement fee-based, fiduciary solutions into their clients’ portfolios. I’m now able to bring that experience to our clients directly.
Outside of work, I like spending my time attending my son’s hockey games and my daughter’s cheer competitions. If there’s any time left after that, I’m either playing golf, working on projects around the house, or putting up way too many Christmas lights during the holidays.

I once wrote the curriculum adopted by my former school district for the personal finance course, which I taught at the high school level for six years. My unique experience as a teacher helps me educate people about financial planning in a way that’s easy to understand, even for beginners. By teaching people the “why” behind their investments, my clients are better-prepared to work towards their ideal retirements.
Meeting new people and learning about their lives is the highlight of my day. I believe communication is key to successful relationships and financial plans. I ensure that the families I serve clearly know the purpose of their plan, while also reassuring them that they have someone to talk to if they ever need help.
Outside of work, I enjoy coaching The Louisville Track Club, a non-profit Track and Field team with over 120 members ages 8-18 that focuses on developing athletes to compete in local, state, and national championship meets. I also enjoy spending time with my wife, Pam, and two daughters, Addison and Brooklyn.
Cody Brown is the newest Advisor to the FWPP team. Currently, he spends most of his day assisting the partners of the firm. Cody expresses his passion for the finance industry by helping people “Do” what they want to do. One of the most common stresses in the world is finance. By meeting with people and helping them along their journey, Cody grows simultaneously alongside them.
Cody has a plethora of hobbies including playing sports, reading books, and playing guitar to his son Phoenix. Cody plays for a semi-professional volleyball team in the Volleyball League of America (VLA™️) called Louisville Union.
Along his journey with us, Cody attends Southeast Christian Church in La Grange. He is a core member of Christian Referral Network, a multi-faceted group of business owners and associates dedicating their practice to running a Christian business.
